White gown, gold bridesmaids dresses, gold scheme, what flowers?

I was think ivory flowers, I don't know what type, or maybe light pink? Maybe even yellow tea roses? Really don't want colors to clash.

White gown, gold bridesmaids dresses, gold scheme, what flowers?
I would avoid ivory or yellow flowers as these will most likely clash with the colours of your dress/the bridesmaids dresses.

white flowers with some greenery are a pretty safe bet with the colours you've chosen.

Otherwise, what about some complimentary colours. It really depends on the shade of gold to what colours might look good. Blue or purple could be some suggestions, depending on what the gold looks like.

Reply:hi. i am getting married to and i got same problem white gown, gold bridesmaid dresses and cant decided on what color for flowers.... yellow flowers sound really good for bridesmads =) Report It
Reply:Nothing will clash with ivory and gold; your flowers need color so there is some contrast between them and the dresses - otherwise they don't show well during the ceremony or in the photos. You pay so much for flowers that they really should have a large impact!
Reply:yellow tea roses would look great! or white Lillie's they are beautiful
Reply:I saw one that had brown and beige and cream flowers, and had gold sprayed fiddler's plants in it. Really pretty, and it tied in the gold theme.
Reply:Light pink sounds delicious, perhaps so pale as to almost be white. If you go for yellow however, try white roses with a slight yellow tinge. Either would be cool. What color ribbons will you use to bind the flowers?
Reply:Hi and congratulations!

In my honest opinion, I would NOT try to match everything. Gold bridesmaids dresses are a beautiful choice, but don't wash them out trying to coordinate them with ivory or yellow flowers. You need something to CONTRAST not coordinate.

Look at the color wheel.....the color opposite is what is a complimentary color and goes good:

So....for gold that would be blue or even purple! Look at these bouquets. Personally, if it was me, I would go with a blue hydrangea (only because I love hydrangeas), but I also love the deep blue iris bouquet.

For you.....have some white flowers and maybe some color mixed in (if you want).

Also....please go to a florist and get ideas. That is their business! They are more than willing to point you in the right direction and to work within your budget.

Good luck!

I would suggest if possible to take a swatch of the gold and then go to the florist and place flowers and ribbons next to the gold to see what color brings out the flowers and the gold color of the dresses the best. Your florist works with lots of colors and flowers daily, and depending on the time of year for your wedding what flowers will be available to choose your colors the best.

Best of Luck

Reply:HI, I am a wedding planner in Atlanta GA. You defintely don't want to do the ivory flowers, It will clash with your white gown. I would suggest, yellow roses, or tulips, which come in all colors, and will accent the gold and white. Also, I just did a wedding where we used yellow roses and died the top(tips) brown. It was beautiful, that would be a great accent. You need to throw an alternate color in to balance out the gold and white.
Reply:I like the white. I'd avoid yellow. As an accent color, if you want one, violet or blue would go well, depending on the exact shade of gold. Could you take a swatch to the florist?
Reply:What about a white bouquet for you and red roses for your bridesmaids. I think red roses and gold dresses would look beautiful together. Also something else that would look nice is having them carry a few stems of calla lilies. Either one would be wonderful.
