FIND EACH PROBABILITY. P(RED OR PINK)
One flower is randomly taken from a vase containing 5 red flowers, 2 white flowers, and 3 pink flowers?
Despite having flowers being picked from a vase, this is a Mathematics question, not a Botany one... ;)
Reply:All probability is is the chance for one event (a specific color to be chosen) out of all possible events (the total number of flowers).
So the chance to get a red one (there are 5 red flowers) out of all the flowers (10 total) is 5 in 10, which can be reduced to 1 in 2, or 50%, or 0.5 (all are different ways of writing the same thing - use whatever format you do in class).
Now that you know how to do this, you can do the pink and white yourself.
