What kind of flowers are these?

the kind that is in anime and japanese films?

i think their called cherry blossoms but i'm thinking of the flowers that are all white that let go a million petal when they bloom.

From your description, and without a good picture, I suspect that you are describing a species of Japanese cherry tree from the genus Prunus. Most ornimental Japanese cherry trees are from this genus and are quite beautiful while in bloom. Depending upon the species and/or variety, the petals may be white, pink, etc.
