Reply:Most orchids bloom only one time a year ~ they are usually not dead after they bloom ~ just napping. Indeed there are very few indoor plants (or outdoors for that matter) that will stay in bloom for more than a few months out of the year.
Anthuriums can grow quite well indoors and will continue to bloom if given a bit of monthly fertilizer. Spathyphyllums (peace lillies) are also wonderful indoor plants with lovely white flowers and they require very little bright light.
Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is a wonderful bloomer ~ flowers last 2-3 months and then they should be cutback given a bit of a resting period ~ they start forming blooms again in about a month. They do need some sunshine though.
Most flowering plants really do much better outdoors. Having good air circulation ~ an open window nearby can make a very big difference. If your doors %26amp; windows are locked %26amp; closed up most of the time ~ you will probably have difficulty getting any houseplants to bloom.
