I have a 6 foot white flowering shrub with opposite, simple leaves. What is it?

If the flowers are small and very fragrant, my guess would be honeysuckle. It's hard to guess on the info given, but the fact that the leaves are opposite is quite helpful, as most plants do not have this leaf arrangement. The Caprifoliaceae (honeysuckle) family is quite large and variable, try looking at some of these websites to see if it is your shrub. Honeysuckles are often used as landscaping shrubs because of the extremely fragrant flowers and their low maintainance needs.

Besides honeysuckle, a Viburnum comes to mind. A picture would help lots.

Reply:Wow - a picture would be helpful... what region do you live in (or state, if you don't know the region). When does it flower? Does it lose its leaves in autumn? Are the leaves variagated, shiny, wrinkly, dull, green, yellow, burgundy... ?????
