I have no idea how to process this type of squah/how to cook it/
What is the name of the squash that is white and resembles a squatty flower blossom?
I believe those are "patty pan" squash. They are a "summer squash" so they don't have to be scooped out or anything, the outsides are edible. You can slice it into chunks, boil it or saute it or bake it or micro wave it.
I like it cut into chunks and sauted in a little water till soft, then drain the water and add chunks of tomato and sour cream. Season with salt, pepper and oregano.
Reply:Patty pan-- can be cooked as the yellow crook neck.
Family receipe-- cook several strips of bacon. remove bacon from skillet. slice some onion-- cook in the bacon fat-- cut up the squash-- put in the skillet with the onion-- crumble the bacon-- back into the skillet-- season to taste with black pepper and salt. add a little of water-- cover and steam- watch the liquid and keep moist until squash is done. Serve as side dish.
;enjoy!
Reply:Do you mean a turnip/ parsnip?
