What is a flower with strong fragrance that comes in white and purplish-pink shades?

I have no idea what this flower is called but it grows in some sort of a tree-shrub way. It has a very strong pleasant fragrance.

Reply:might be lily of the valley

If your sure it grows on a tree/shrub formation, then i think its lilac:)
Reply:Might be a lilac. I've seen them in seed catalogs and gardening books in the colors you mention. I have a lilac bush that has lavender blooms. It smells wonderful! I always bring in a bouquet in the spring when they are in bloom. Their fragrance fills the room.
Reply:I assume you mean it is bloom now in May.

Daphne odora sweet pink flowers.

Daphnex burkwoodi 'Carol Mackie' Flowers are pale pink to white umbels

Leptodermis oblonga Violet-pink, lilac-like blooms

Banana Shrub (Michelia figo) Creamy yellow flowers tinged with purple, resembling small magnolia blossoms

Carolina Allspice (Calycanthus floridus) aka Sweet Shrub.

Red-flowering currant, Ribes sanguineum

Korenspice Viburnum The flowers are clove-scented, white

Burkwood viburnum V. burkwoodii ‘Mohawk’ has red buds, which are showy but they open into white flowers.
