Anyone know how to care for Calla Lilies?

I have 2 plants, I'm not even sure they are Calla Lilies. They have huge leaves, and big white flowers with a long orange yellow center. The leaves are turning brown now, and the blooms are gone. Am I supposed to cut them back?

Anyone know how to care for Calla Lilies?
We have the white Calla Lillies. Once the flower has died off cut the flower stem right down . Keep the yellow seed part ( inside lillie), wear protective gloves and spread the yellow seeds around your garden they keep the cats away. Once they have all flowered and died off, cut everything right down to the ground.Leaves etc.
Reply:cut the old flowers off. Seeds develop in the old flower. You may want to let it do that just to see how it works. Its pretty neat.

Is this what they look like? Make sure they have lots of water and sun. Mine have the spotted leaves. I just love that!

I had them for 2 years and I just loved those pretty spotted leaves. It did bloom twice this year in its new spot.

They have bulbs and in there is plenty of energy. If the whole plants looks like its in trouble, I would cut it all back and let it regrow.

You will have to dig up the bulbs in the fall if you live in a wintry area like New England and store it in your cool basement with your other semitropical bulbs.

Some callas can stand the winter I am told, but I don't take the chance with mine.

I wonder though are you talking about Cannas? I don't remember any of them coming in White. Just red and yellow and orange.

I love them too. I got lots. Just Wikipedia them and you will know how to take care of them. Basically the same as Callas. They love water and sun. The more, the better. Callas are one plant that would thrive on overwaterings.
Reply:They must be kept very moist at all times!

2. You can let them grow outdoors, in spring and summer, but they must be kept wet!

3. Bring them indoors in fall and winter!

Good luck!
