Black and white wedding?

my wedding dress is white with a hint of black. i am going to have a red rose hair peice in and my flowers are going to be red roses with a white rose in the middle. my brides maid dresses are black with white and red roses as their bouquet and with a white flower pinned in their hair all their hair will be pinned back. I have had some negative comments and thoughts on my wedding plans. my cake is black and white with a few red accents. i wanted something simple and elegant. is a black and white wedding over done?

Black and white wedding?
Being classic can never be over done! Our wedding was originally going to be black and white, but I fell in love with an ivory wedding dress and some black and ivory invitations... now it's black and ivory! (Close enough to black and white, lol).

If you are afraid of it being too over done, maybe mix in another color besides red. Those three are the classic color combo, so maybe mix it up a little. We're having a fall wedding, so our main colors are black and ivory, with fall mix bouquets - deep reds, oranges, fuschia pink, and a hint of golden yellow. You can always incorporate another color to mix it up a little bit!

Good luck, and I'm sure it will be stunning!
Reply:A Traditional wedding was always done in white, but times have changed and so is the way that we think, if you if you like the white dress with the int of black go for it!

But keep the cake white, you could have black and white center pieces instead. If you have flowers in church keep them white as well , the Church doesn't need a theme !

I have never seen a bride wearing a black and white dress before , but I have seen them at the bridal show and some of them are really nice ,but with a limitation ! In my opinion this kind of setting would be more appropriate during an evening ceremony, or in a place other than a church, but that 's my point of view!
Reply:This is a great idea! The red roses will really stand out against the black and white decor and dresses. It would be really neat if you had some black and white photos of the two of you while dating / engaged put in black frames and set on the table where guests place cards and gifts.

I honestly think that black and white photos seem timeless. My cousin had each set of parents submit a black and white picture of their wedding, and of their parents' weddings, too. This gives the idea that love and marriage is as old (but still timeless) as humanity.
Reply:Nope. Black and White are not (in my opinion) overdone. i was going to do it for my wedding colors, but i'm getting married in the middle of the day, so i thought it would look weird.

My fiance, who never seems to care about wedding stuff either way, was pretty dissapointed. He said that black and white is classy. He's trying to get used to mint green and lilac
Reply:it sounds beautiful! we are getting married this june and our wedding colors are black pink and white! black and white weddings are very glamarous and elegant!!!! ignore people who say it is gothic or disturbing to use black. black is coming very popular at weddings! our photographer is super excited because we are her first wedding for people to use these colors and she loves it!
Reply:I like the ideas you have for your wedding. The negative comments don't matter because there will always be someone saying something negative no matter what colors, centerpiece, flowers you have. Just make sure you like it.
Reply:No, I think it's very pretty and elegant. If people are giving you negative comments it's because they would do their wedding differently. Just remember though, it's not their wedding, it's yours. You're the one that has to be happpy.
Reply:omg i have that dream wedding, too.. cause i love black and white and a touch of red..

go for it..it's your wedding.. no matter what the motif is, you'll gonna be beautiful cause brides are always beautiful..

congratulations!!! ;)

take care
Reply:No way. It's classy. You do what you want as it's you and your partner's opinion that matters at the end of the day. The red accent is a gorgeous option.
Reply:It's your wedding do what you want and don't let others opinions change your mind for a second. Your wedding sounds like a dream. Don't let anyone take it from you. I wish you a happy marriage.
Reply:It's your wedding, so do what you want. Everybody will have an opinion. If they don't like what you're doing, then it's their problem, not yours.
Reply:That would look beautiful, and it's your wedding. Go with what you like so that you don't regret not doing it later.
Reply:oouu i can see it now

it sounds beautiful, and not over done

dont worry its your wedding

go all out if you want
Reply:Actually black and white is very classy...do what you want, dont let the haters put you down.
Reply:yes its over done. its going to look like prom night instead of wedding night.

LOL
Reply:no, no! i think its awesome! that'll look SO cool!
Reply:No.that sounds so hot!
