What do you think of a back & white wedding on the beach?

My friend is getting married in the fall on the beach and she is going to have white dresses with black flowers on it. The guys will have white shirts and tan shorts or black. I know it is her wedding So I wont say anything to her but does anyone think that black is odd for the beach?or is it just me

What do you think of a back %26amp; white wedding on the beach?
maybe a bit odd, but it's her day and what she wants and the dresses sound pretty!
Reply:classic and gorgeous. i like it, mellow, sweet.
Reply:I agree, that is odd. I equate beach weddings with a more casual atmosphere and black and white with a more formal atmposhere. But, who knows, maybe it will be just gorgeous because it will be so unique and no one will have thought of doing it before.
Reply:It's her wedding and anything goes now days. Whatever she thinks is okay whether others agree or not. I think the idea of black and white is neat.
Reply:I don't think black is a good idea for the beach. Black is a good color for a formal, evening wedding. But, to each their own. If she's really happy with her decision, you're right not to criticize.
Reply:I think "on the beach" weddings are cool! Unless you're getting married on the beach in the Bahamas or in Hawaii (say like a beach here in the US) then I think a short white wedding dress, and black suits for the guys with no shoes and everybody's pants rolled up would be pretty cool! But at the very least she should have everybody dressed the same. Even if they're wearing the same khaki shorts and the same hawaiin print shirts.
Reply:It will probably be lovely, and when you're shopping for your outfit you won't have to worry about clashing with the wedding party.
Reply:If it were a funeral on the beach, black would be all right.
Reply:I thought it was odd too. Until I went to a beach wedding where the groomsmen were all in black tuxes. It was July and it was hot! The groomsmen were no doubt uncomfortable, but it was lovely. There is no rule that a beach wedding cant be formal.
Reply:classy

I had a black and white wedding too
Reply:Yeah, it's odd. I mean, the dresses COULD be OK...if they are like breezy sundresses, but to have the guys in black (especially SHORTS??!! EEK!) is weird. Black is going to get covered with sand no matter what they do. Khakis are much more appropriate for a beach wedding. I always laugh when people say they want a beach wedding, then they want everyone in formal attire. It's like, if you wanted formal dress...hold the wedding somewhere where you aren't going to get covered with sand and have sea-gulls flying over your head!
Reply:i'm not a huge fan of black %26amp; white for weddings. unless it's an evening wedding and then just very simple and classy. for a beach wedding i think it would be nice to have muted colors - really soft, subtle colors.

but...that's me! and you're right - you can't say anything! it's her wedding - her day! :-)
Reply:I love beach weddings and I love black and white weddings, but not mixed together.

I guess it depends on how much black there is. It would definitely look better if it was mostly white and tan (like the tan shorts) with accents of black.

At the end of her day, it's her wedding!!
