What is a good accent color for a black & white summer wedding?

My wedding is in the summer of 2009, and i was wondering what you thought was a good accent color, to go with black %26amp; white. I want to try a color that hasn't been done yet, but any suggestions would be great. Also, any ideas on flowers, or center pieces you might have, are also appreciated! thanks a bunch!

What is a good accent color for a black %26amp; white summer wedding?
yellow would be very nice, with sunflowers and daffodils, as long as you don't make the bridesmaids wear yellow because so few people look good in it. good centerpieces would be bowls of citrus like lemons, limes, and oranges that people could also use in their drinks.

if you chose an evening wedding, with black bridesmaids dresses, ANY white flower will look lovely, from roses, to calla lilies or star lilies, or daffodils. good centerpieces here would be bowls filled with water and a few floating candles in whatever color you chose, especially a rich, royal blue.

for a daytime wedding, green would be a beautiful color and would again work with just about any white flower and some nice greenery in your bouquet to make it stand out a little more. for greeen, a centerpiece can be more flowers or greenery, candles in green tinted vases, or even just a stand with the table number with a little ivy/greenery/flowers twirled around it.
Reply:I'm having a B%26amp;W summer wedding too! I like Robin's egg blue. For the bouquet- blue hydrangea with white roses, calla lily and stephanotis. I saw saw pics of a chartreuse (lime green) with B%26amp;W, which I thought looked really fresh and modern... So I would consider that as well, or a combo of the 2!! Report It
Reply:Robin's egg blue is really pretty and hasn't been used much yet but it's getting popular. Rust is also a very pretty color for a summer wedding! Check out theknot.com and weddingchannel.com for some more ideas and Congrats!!!!
Reply:Silver, red, purple are all good colors.
Reply:I am doing red with mine. My wedding will be in june, the end so close to the beginning of july (july fourth) so the red kind of fits in there. Also its going to be apple and not a dark red. Our colors are red white and black, yes i know its been done before, but you could make it different by what you do with your wedding. Flowers: Roses are in season, carnations, sounds funny but ive seen them in really pretty bouquets.
Reply:Champagne colored accents would be pretty, or you could use copper/other metallics, that would be amazing!

Maybe adding two accents would help? You could do black and white with light pink and light blue accents, or a darker pink and turquoise. Another possibility is sage, that is generally a popular color.

However, my favorite idea would be to go with a dark indigo. Or indigo and pink, or sea green. Something like that would be really unique.

This website seemed pretty helpful, and has some pictures of black and white weddings.

Good luck :)

Reply:try gold
Reply:yellow and use sunflowers or daisies!!!
Reply:maybe a bright pink, or orange. something that will really "pop" against the black and white.
Reply:I think a very bright color like fuchsia, a bright orange, or a bright blue would be great for a wedding. You could use lots of brightly colored flowers and then have everything else black and white. I think it'd be beautiful!
Reply:I think a pale yellow would look pretty since it's in the summer, you would be able to have a variety of flowers with that and they wouldn't clash. Any kind of white, yellow, green, or orange flowers (just to name a few colors) would look nice.
Reply:any bright colors...orange, pink, green, gold, red, purple, etc.
Reply:My first thought was pink. Since black and white are a really bold combo, pink could lighten things up a bit. Or maybe aqua or turquoise.
Reply:Depending on your own tastes, most any shade of pink from soft to fuchsia will work. Also blues, particularly the Tiffany blue.
Reply:Red always goes well with black and white. Those were the colors I had at my wedding and the pictures turned out wonderful and it was very classy looking. If you don't like the idea of red, try bright pink since it will be in the summer. It offers great contrast and will photograph well also. Keep the center pieces simple and try not to go for whatever is in style, but something more classy that will stand the test of time. There is nothing worse than looking back at your photos and going "oh, what was I thinking". I'd go with white lilies or simple carnations with maybe just one pop of the accent color. Good Luck and Congratulations on the wedding. =)
Reply:our colors are red black and ivory cause my fiance is an ohio state fanatic.

but black white and purple would be pretty i don't see many weddings with those three colors :)

our centerpieces are provided by the venue

tall straight vases with glass stones in the bottom, water and a floating candle, with voties and a mirror below

our flowers are red and white roses...
Reply:Red is very popular so you may not want to go with that.
