I am working on a project and want to use a style I have seen before in Victorian paintings of birds and flowers with really deep and rich colors. After searching I was only able to find a painting for sale on some antique site. Usually the background of these paintings are just white/ aged cream. Audobon can work, but his are not as opaque as I have in my mind.
What Victorian artists made paintings similar to audobon with flowers/birds?
Try the google image results for "victorian bird paintings". You may not be thinking of the right time period, depending on how dark you're expecting to see the colors.
