Why can't chinese people put white things in their hair?

my mom said no white flowers now no white ribbons. what is with her? sheesh. anyway i just want to find out why.

Why can't chinese people put white things in their hair?
its comes down to personal belief, some won't because it can be seen as a sign of mourning and some will because they are not so traditional.

You should just do what you feel comfortable with and the people who matter to you will understand.

Reply:White is a sign of Death. You only put white items on your head when someone you're aquainted with has just passed on. It is somewhat a sign of bad luck.

i think its because of the contrast..if your hair is very dark. then it brings special attention to the white. and they are such oppisites..who knows..
