Im having a black and white wedding next july and i hate flowers! any ideas for what the bm's&moh could carry?

im wearing white and so is my fiancee (he insists) LOL. my bridesmaids and groomsman are wearing black and my maid of honor, flower girl, ring bearer and best man are wearing black and white. i was also thinkging of putting a splash of pink somewere since i am for the reception. im dying water pink and putting floating candles in them with little candles around. the only flower i semi like is a calla lilly so i was thinking they hold one calla lilly with a black ribbon (or pink) around the flower. but any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I like the idea of them holding 1 white calla lilly...but not with a black ribbon. That might look too much like a funeral.

I would go with a pink ribbon.

You could get creative and have them carry a beaded bouquet. I have seen them at Bridal shows and they look pretty cool.
Reply:I like your cala lily idea, although i would use pink and not black for the ribbon. I had a similar dilemma and my girls all carried a single died white rose with purple tips so I could add a a little purple to my black and white wedding as well. The florist was fantastic and dressed up the single flowers and made it look beautiful.

My girls enjoyed only holding one flower as well as it was less of a burden to carry for a long period of time.
Reply:Like you, I love calla lillies. They are either big and cream-colored, or they also come in a variety of bright and warm colors, such as burnished yellow, orange and hues of dark pink. The colored variety tend to be miniature, so it might be more feasible to have a cluster of dark pink minis in each vase rather than one large flower each. It would look more festive too. just a suggestion.

btw, congratulations and best wishes, have a wonderful wedding!
Reply:Hi and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Why not have the girls (BM %26amp; MOH) carry PINK calla lillies? I think that would look great. Tied with a white or light pink ribbon. Here are some pictures of pink calla lillies:

I think that would look great!
Reply:You have been reading too many bride mags. It is "You special day and all of that" ...

How about they each carry a jar of Polish Dill Pickles, you know big ones from a warehouse store like Sam's or Costco. The green pickles will go well with the dresses and the water in the jar is already colored, too.

Someone should have told you to knock it off already. Your bride maids should have flowers. It really isn't all about you. Your guests would appreciate the touch of class.
Reply:Is there a particular theme for your wedding? You could incorporate some aspect of the reception to the ceremony based on what theme or feel you were going for. My cousin got married earlier this year, and the bridal party carried fans decorated according to the wedding scheme. (Her theme was Asian American because her husband is Asian.)

Reply:The lilies would work

Maybe a single candle or a lantern;

Prayer book or white Bible;

Lacy fan, paper flowers,

crystal bouquets, but they're expensive unless you go to a craft store %26amp; make them yourself.

My girls carried muffs but mine was also a winter wedding.
Reply:Could they carry a cute clutch/purse in lieu of flowers? If it was a winter wedding I would suggest a winter muff but since it's July that wouldn't go over so well.

I do like the idea of a single flower with a ribbon--very pretty.
Reply:How about pink candles? And they can be lit by the groomsmen after you take your vows?

Small pink bibles?

Small pink silk purses?

Something they can have in their hands....
Reply:How about some dark colored ( dark purple or something ) leaves and a few Henry lauder's walking stick tree branches in a bouquet? Hope this helps!
Reply:have them carry a lit candle down the aisle. i saw this at a wedding and it was extremely sentimental and beautiful!!!
Reply:Maybe lapel pins or matching braclets.
