i don't want an all white tattoo, it will be a white flower, so just mostly white
How do white tattoos look?
I asked about getting a white tattoo the last time I was in and they don't really recommend it. It can fade and look really blotchy. That was a couple of years ago now though, so maybe they've come up with better ink since then. Maybe you could call a tattoo shop and ask? They'd probably have better advice :)
Edited to add: I did find this online ~
Posted by SharpTattoos: Unfortunately, you have to get really lucky for a white tattoo to stay white. The paler you are, the better off you are, but finding an artist who works well with white and is willing to do a white tattoo may be difficult. I've done tattoos on people who soak up white like there's no tomorrow - but unfortunately, not everyone can hold white that well. White generally stays better in small areas like highlights. Larger areas are a bit tougher. From what I've heard, most artists won't even bother with white... (which is really dissappointing) they won't even attempt to work with it. I, myself, would be lost without white. I love using it. I like it even better when it stays well...what you have to remember is that all colors are affected by the pigment of your skin, not just the white. Even though it may not show up perfectly paper white, if it shows, it shows up lighter than your skin tone- and that's the point."
I just found out about glow-in-the-dark tattoo ink. The possibilities are endless!
Reply:they look white
I have a tattoo with daisies in it, they are white, but my tattoo artist said white fades out faster than all colors and we chose to not add the white color to it. He shaded it nicely instead and it looks beautiful w/o the white. However I'm a pretty white girl naturally. So it worked for me.
Reply:the only white tattoo i saw was on lindsay lohan and i didnt think it was all that but then again hers sayed breath but a flower might actually look really cute .it would have been good if you said where on your body you where gonna put it
Reply:It's okay for awhile, but fades to a yucky yellow over time. You're better off just leaving it colorless %26amp; letting your skin fill the "white" parts.
Reply:Do you think it would look good? Girl, just be yourself! Is that what you really want? A white tattoo? Then get one! It's up to you. If your not sure, look at yourself. Examine your skin and think, "Will this tattoo be the real me?"
Reply:if you have really really pale skin, then your white ink will show up on your skin. If you are dark, the white wont show as much, but it will be a little lighter-you may have to go for touch ups to make the white show more. Ask your tattoo artist about your skin color and the white ink.
Reply:like you have an ashy patch. lol
