well you shouldnt go tanning for the 1st week or 2.. after that cover it up with something like cloth .. and sunblock helps it not fade as fast... they say white ink fades the fastest though

so good luck
Reply:You can't expose a new tattoo to direct sun light so ... you can't tan that area. Tanning beds are fake light and have an even higher concentration. People who tan all the time have faded tattoos if they don't protect them. Until it's healed you can't expose it or go swimming. Take a small towel with you if you really must go tanning and use sun screen even though it will be covered. Put the towel over your tattoo and use the sun screen to keep any rays from hurting your tattoo. I would put off tanning until it's started scabbing and then use a towel since it's less likely to stick to your skin and harm the tattoo. Imagine what tanning beds do to tattoos since white french tip fake nails turn yellow if they are exposed enough.
Reply:The sun is your tattoo's worse enemy. If possible, avoid the sun. If you really have to, then use a sunblock with SPF 50.
Reply:White tattoos are lovely!

Get a thick piece of cloth, like a folded washcloth, and cover that area. You will end up with an untan square around the tattoo, but hey, it's better than messing up the tat itself!
Reply:How the heck do you get a white tattoo?

Just don't go tanning. It costs so much money, and then you will have to pay a lot for chemotherapy later. Plus most people look a thousand times better when they haven't fake-n-baked.
Reply:Put lots of sunblock on it.
Reply:no tan is best for a tat, espically white. White ink pops on lighter skin...I would cover it up a little, at the very least, tons of sunblock, but it may still tan, just not burn.
Reply:sunblock!!!

and ask your artist.
Reply:Pointless...it's all so pointless
