Can you wear black and white to a wedding?

Cause I heard you're not supossed to wear white because it upstages the bride. and not black because it means ur against the wedding.

but my skirt is white with black flowers and my shirt is black with a white over shirt thing. (its cute lol)

Is this okay to wear? Cause im not against the wedding i swear and my aunt is the bride)

Can you wear black and white to a wedding?
No your outfit sounds very elegant. I think they mean when you wear head to tail white or black.
Reply:i think the skirt would be fine but add some color in somewhere!

it's not a problem wearing some black and some white but you should definitely add some color - maybe replace the black shirt with a color and keep the white over shirt and it'll look great
Reply:Your outfit sounds really cute. And it would be fine to wear. I've heard that wearing red to a wedding means something negitive. IDK. Anyway, have fun and I wish all the best to your aunt!!
Reply:I've heard the no "all white" thing. But, I must say--I've been guilty of wearing all black. But nowadays--bridesmaids wear all black...and all sorts of stuff.

Your outfit sounds fine. It's a print.
Reply:Your outfit sounds fine. The "rule" applies to all white or mostly white dresses. And personally I think black is just fine for weddings - very classy.
Reply:I wear black all the time and it is fine. Just don't wear too much white. I just bought a black sundress with white embroidery for a wedding next month.
Reply:Your outfit sounds fine. The no white/black rule is for all one color I think.
Reply:You're fine. I've worn a black and white poke a dot dress to a few weddings.
Reply:Thats sounds fine,

I think they mean dont wear ALL white or ALL black in block.
Reply:I think now days some of those wedding "rules" dont apply as much. I think you will be fine
Reply:Black is acceptable now days. Wear it.
